WHERE DID MY RETIREMENT GO????

Well, another day has come and gone and I'm wiped out!! Where is all that time I thought I'd have to sit on my patio and relax and sip my diet coke???? I feel blessed that I'm busy booking trips, but ....... I need a break and I don't see it coming until March of next year. Between booking trips and working on upcoming election, I just don't have any free time. I tell myself, okay self, you can't start any more group trips til after David's campaign or until I finish the one I'm about to go on,but before I know it, I'm off and running with another one!!

Okay, I'm done venting. I'm headed to take a hot, hot shower and go to bed. Tomorrow is another day and I thank God for it.

Nite, nite....

Visit from Jayne and Dane

Jayne and Dane have been in Orange since Thursday. I met Jayne close to Houston to pick up my little man and she went on to work with plans to come to Orange when she got off. Jayne brought her camera with intentions of getting shots of Dane with our new puppy (Duke) which as you can see she did. Dane wasn't sure about Duke at first. Duke was excited to see someone just about his size and would try to be a little too friendly. Dane would run and Duke would follow close behind jumping on Dane's back. I believe Duke thought this was a game, and of course Dane was just trying to get away from the puppy. It was a pretty funny site. He finally warmed up to Duke, but mostly when the puppy was asleep or laying on someone's lap.

Jayne is our family photographer now, so David and I took advantage of her new calling. We are in the midst of a campaign for Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 and David needs a picture for his upcoming announcement. So, she did a photo shoot of David which is not his favorite thing to do. She did get a great shot after several failed attempts (mostly because Davis is such a cut-up. Be sure and be watching local newspapers.....

We had a great visit even though Dane was a little under the weather... Wish Kevin had been able to come too, but it just didn't work out this time. Missed you Kev!!

It's after 8pm and David and I are both pretty tired about to head to bed. Have a good night!

NEW ADDITION TO THE FAMILY....

Jayne informed me today that I'm slacking because I haven't posted anything to my blog, so I felt a little pressure to keep up the pace or get out of the race!

Today, I picked up our new addition to the family. He's so cute and cuddley with blue eyes and hair the color of cornsilk... Did you guess what it is??? It's a puppy!! We have been talking about getting a dog for a couple of years, felt we needed a fence. It seem that it was meant for us to have this puppy because the timing was so perfect. The Sanfords put their precious little puppies on facebook and I just fell in love with them. I really wanted 2, but David thought 1 was enough since we have 2 cats also. Lauren and JT went with me to pick him up and helped me name the sweet faced little guy. His name is Jake. He's already found his special place (on David's lap watching TV.

I had a wonderful time in Baltimore and hope to go back with a group of people. It is a neat place and has a lot to offer for a vacation. There's a lot of history, great eating places, and is a walking town which is fun. Baltimore treated the travel agents to a wonderful stay in the Baltimore Marriot Waterfront Hotel, harbor cruise tour with lunch, tickets to a couple of attractions and then Carnival transferred us to their cruise ship, Carinival Pride to tour and treated us to a 5 course luncheon. It was a great learning experience. I love being a travel agent!

Tomorrow is going to be a special day. I'm driving to meet up with Jayne and pick up the little man. She's going on to work and then will come to Orange to spend the night and have a little visit. I can't wait to see Dane's reaction to Jake.

I guess I'll end my blog and say good night now....

Good Night!

INFORMATION OVERLOAD.....

David is running for the office of Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 in the March, 2010 election. With that being said, David and I along with a couple of friends went to a workshop today on the process of running a campaign that was hosted by the Texas Democratic Party in Beaumont. It started at 9am and ended around 4:30 p.m; we broke at noon for a wonderful lunch which they provided and started right back up around 12:45pm. The workshop speakers presented lots of good information which will be extremely helpful as we kick off our campaign for David's election, but it was also very tiring and even painful to sit for that long and have that much information to digest. We are exhausted to say the least and know that these next 5 months are going to be very challenging. Please remember us in your prayers as we start down this path. We've already been working very hard for the past couple of months laying down the groundwork , but have some of the hardest things ahead of us. There have been many, many who have volunteered to help and support David in this endeavor and we are blessed by that.

PLEASE PASS THE WORD TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS, FAMILY & NEIGHBORS..... VOTE FOR DAVID PECK FOR PRECINCT 1 JUSTICE OF THE PEACE.

On another note.... I have a couple of trips this month and I'm feeling a little stretched, but I guess I'll just have to suck it up and JUST DO IT. I'll be traveling to Baltimore, Maryland this coming Friday, Oct. 2 - 4th to a training by Carnival Cruise Lines. AND, then my Savannah Group Trip is just a month away. It's very exciting to have a new career at this stage of my life.

MY SHOULDERS ARE KILLING ME...

We'll Jayne shamed me because I did 2 blogs in one day, so I decided to skip a day. That's not true, I have just been crazy busy and haven't thought about my blog. I can see it's not easy to keep up a blog. I'm impressed with Jayne keeping hers so current with pictures no less!!

Today was my Bible study at church (Thursdays, Beth Moore) which I love! I love the study, fellowship & lunch with friends afterwards. I've been on the computer from about 5:30am til 9am; back 1pm til now and as I said in my title, MY SHOULDERS ARE KILLING ME..but God has blessed me with trips to book and I'm a happy camper.

Savannah is coming up quick (Oct. 24-28). Can't wait for that one. I have a training I'm going to Oct. 2-4 in Baltimore, Maryland with Carnival Cruise Lines which was paid for by Carnival. My agency gifted me with that because of the amount of business I have generated this year.

I tried to take a break (yardwork is a break to me because I loved it), but the mosquitos were horrible. Spraying didn't even help, so here I am back on the computer....

Gotta go and make David a little dinner.

MASSAGE DAY!!!

I retired from Adult Probation after 10 years in June of this year. One of my treats to myself is a weekly massage... I know it's frivolous to some, but to me it's a necessity, especially with all that's going on in my life right. The daily things that go along with family, extended family needs (parents, grown children & grandchildren), DAVID'S CAMPAIGN, a growing travel business, I don't feel retired, but stretched to the limit. WITH THAT BEING SAID, I'll put in a word for my massage therapist who was recommended by Ellen Ray. Her name is Billie Coleman. She works out of her home now which is Internatinal Apartments and is wonderful. I look forward to this every week, it's a great destresser.

Okay, I'm headed to the shower. I've been to the gym this morning. I get up at 3:30am every morning to head to BodyWorkz to work out. I always said if I ever retire, I'd get my workout done early, so I could get it out of the way. I've followed through with that with the help of the Lord and hope to do til my old bones won't let me. THANKS LORD FOR THE STRENGTH!!

Have a great day!

LONG DAY, BUT GOOD DAY

Today started out busy, busy with my travel business, but was suddenly changed with babysitting my sick grandchildren. This was really a blessing in disguise. They were sickly, but they always love to come to Granny & Poppy's house. Got a call to pick up Lauren and then 1 1/2 hours later, the call to pick up J.T. (Kind of makes you wonder if they had this planned.) A visit to my house is never complete with a trip to McDonald's for food or DQ for blizzard. This one was no exception to the rule. BUT,HEY that's what grandparents are for, right????

They are home now and I'm waiting on the head-rubber himself, my one and only, DAVID. I LOVE THAT MAN!!! I thank the good Lord everyday for David Peck. He treats me like the princess he thinks I am. I have about 15 minutes to go sit on my back porch before he hits the back door. Those who know him well, knows that he's not quiet when he enters a building.

Who knows I may be back, I kind of enjoying this blog.

I'M BACK....

Okay, I'm back, but it's going into afternoon of the next day. Let's see where was I??? Oh yeah the head rub. I guess I've said enough about that.

Today, I'm working on my Savannah, Georgia Group trip in October. Ellen Ray and I put group trips together. We took 49 people to New York City, December 2008, 29 to San Francisco, June, 2009 and now 14 to Savannah. I'm also finishing up a trip to Los Cabos for a couple who will be celebrating an anniversary and am Alaskan cruise/Land Tour that started out with 2 couples, but may have grown to 4. It don't get any better than that. It can be a lot of work, but it's really rewarding when you send someone on a trip and it meets all of their expectations.

I'm going to attempt load past group trip pictures to my blog. If you see them, you'll know I was successful, if not I'll have to call Jayne for help.

Sometime today, I want to get in my yard and work. My poor yard has been neglected due to travel business and my husband's upcoming campaign for Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1. I'll fill you in on that later.

Never mind the yard, I just received a call, Lauren(granddaughter) called from school. Gotta go pick her up, she's sick.

CREATION OF MY BLOG

Well, this is my first attempt to blog, so please bare with me as I create my own BLOG which will be a fun experience. I decided to do after seeing how much fun Jayne (daughter) seems to have putting her life out there for friends and family to see and read about. So here goes...

It's really kind of late (8:41pm) to start this and I know I won't get too far, as I can hear David (my wonderful husband of 5 years) yelling from the living room "Patsy, if you want your head rubbed, you better go get your bath so we can go to bed." That's been a tradition since we married, I get my head rubbed while we talk each night before we fall asleep. I have to say it started out and lasted a lot longer in the beginning, but we don't go to sleep without it. It's a pretty good tradition in my book!!

Okay, I'm going to have to end here. I hear my name again...... don't want to miss my head rub... I'll pick this up tomorrow.

Have a good night....
